Lawrence Moses Obituary

Lawrence William Moses, Jr., 79, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 3, 2006. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and retired from Singer Furniture after more than 50 years of service. Lawrence was a craftsman, loved the outdoors, never met a stranger, and loved life and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence, Sr. and Frances O. Moses; two brothers, Robert O. Moses, and Ralph L. Moses; and one grandchild, Kara Elaine Graybeal. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Louise Moses; two daughters, Frances Ann Cox and Delores G. Moses; four sons, Lawrence W. Moses, III and his wife, Karen, Roger L. Moses, Steven L. Moses and his wife, Beverly, Jerry A. Moses and his wife, Sandra; one sister, Joyce Kathryn Martin; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at East Gate Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. George Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Oakey's East Chapel.
