Lee BURROWS Obituary

Lee Tanner Burrows, 65, of Roanoke, died on Monday, September 23, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Waitus O. Tanner and Jenny Floyd Tanner, of Columbia, S.C. Surviving family members include husband, W. Jackson Burrows; daughter, Jennie Burrows Vogel and husband, George, of Roanoke; and son, Wiley Jackson Burrows Jr. and wife, Nikki, of Columbia, S.C.; and brother, Neil Tanner. In addition, four grandchildren, Tanner Vogel, Eliza Vogel, Anna Kate Burrows, and Ellee Burrows, also survive.
Mrs. Burrows was a member of South Roanoke Methodist Church, was active in the Junior League, 15 years in the Roanoke Alumni Chapter of ZTA Sorority, and Women's Circle at South Roanoke Methodist Church. One of her most enjoyable times was working with children.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013, at South Roanoke United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to be made to South Roanoke Memorial Fund, 2330 South Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24014 or to Alta Mons, 2842 Crocket Springs, Shawsville, VA 24162.
