Mildred McClure Obituary

Mildred Dooley McClure, 79, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2009. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elva Dooley; her husbands, Alfred E. Meadows and Gary C. McClure; her son, Charles E. Meadows; and her sisters, Nell Hayes and Clara Dooley. Surviving are her children, George R. Meadows and wife, Judy, Dianne Martin, Barbara Alrawashdeh, Kevin Meadows, Teresa Scott, and Dale McClure and wife, Kristi; her grandchildren, Robbie, Cari, Jason, Daniel, Dustin, Samantha, Matthew, Megan, Joseph, Patrick and Garrett; and her greatgranddaughters, Makenzie Scott and Shawna Martin. She is also survived by her cousins, Mike Meloy and Joey Spickard; and her niece, Wanda Winters. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309 in her memory. The family would like to say "Thanks" to the staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for all their care and concern for Mildred during her illness. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with Mildred's family. She always had that special endearing smile on her face which made everyone else smile just seeing her. We're going to miss her at The FlattBroke Bluegrass events. Such a dear, sweet lady who will be sorely missed.
