Mildred Rosenberg Obituary

Mildred Ann Rosenberg, 77, formerly of Roanoke, died at her home in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at her home. Mildred Ann was a native of Roanoke and a resident of Washington, D.C., for more than 45 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Lake and Bessie Rosenberg; and her brother, Malcolm Rosenberg. She was a graduate of Bard College and for 25 years was the Director of Volunteers at Washington Heart Association. She is survived by her nephew, Rick Rosenberg and his wife, Rebecca Rosenberg, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; her nephew, Stephen Rosenberg and his wife, Eliane Rosenberg, of Atlanta, Ga.; her niece, Elise Rosenberg, of Hallandale, Fla.; great-nieces and greatnephews, Sarah, Lake, Abby and Gabe Rosenberg, of Chapel Hill, and Talia and Lucas Rosenberg, of Atlanta. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Diane Rosenberg, of Roanoke. The family acknowledges with gratitude the comfort and care given to Mildred Ann by her caregivers, Enid Marston and Monica Hutchinson. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Sunday Morning, October 25, 2009, at Beth Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hillel at Virginia Tech, P.O. Box 708, Blacksburg, Va. 24063. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
