Otis Hinkley Obituary

Otis Leslie Hinkley, 79, of Radford, Va., passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008, at the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Maggie Wayne Hinkley; daughter, Carolyn Heffelfinger; two sisters, Frances and Virginia; and by a brother, Charlie. He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry as an Iron Master, and a member of the Radford Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruth S. Hinkley; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ann Hinkley, of Riner; two daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and Carl Ivarsson, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Teresa Epperson and special friend, Evaristo Gonzalez, of Pulaski; four grandsons, Jason, Justin, and Jeremy Hinkley, and Trey Ivarsson; one granddaughter, Lora Epperson; two greatgrandchildren, Brodrick and Brooklyn Hinkley; one step granddaughter, Shana McDonough; one stepgreatgranddaughter, Lilly McDonough; half brother, Ralph Woolwine, of New Jersey; special niece, Nancy Custer; special friend, E.B. Morris; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Bobby Sutphin and the Rev. Karl Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home. MRS.HINKLEY,IM SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF MR. HINKLEY'S PASSING.MY DAD OFTEN TOLD ME WHAT A HARD WORKING MAN HE WAS AND HOW MUCH HE LOVED HIS FAMILY,I PERSONALLY WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT A SHARP DRESSER HE WAS AND HOW WELL HE CARRIED HIMSELF SO PROUD.GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW NOW AND DAYS TO COME.
