I worked with Patrick (that was how I knew him) at St. Mary's Hospital and grew to regard him as a trusted colleague and dear friend. I so enjoyed Patrick's sense of humor and, whenever I thought of him, I would see him in my mind's eye with a big smile on his face.

Patrick and Deborah also became friends with my family and we often found ourselves sitting in adjacent rows at Pro Arts programs so my daughters could cuddle with them or play with Deborah's hair.

I know that I will miss Patrick very much, but that will be as nothing compared to the loss that Deborah and the rest of his family are having to endure. I hope that the memories of his wonderful smile and the sense of joy that he found in life will hopefully ease our grief at his too quick leavetaking from our presence.

Dad, you taught me to always believe in myself, and to love others as Jesus loves us. I will never forget your smile, and your great big bear hugs. I love you Dad, thanks for loving us.

Dear Pat,
You were a wonderful little brother. I remember when Mama and Daddy brought you home from the hospital in Wytheville. Mike and I were playing under the tree in the front yard. You grew up to have a great sense of humor like our mother! Thanks for calling me on Saturday for my birthday. It was good to hear how happy you were and that you loved your job. That's the way I want to remember you! All my love....you will forever be in my heart.
Love,
Angel - Your big sister

My dear Pat, You were the best big brother a girl could have. Thank you for taking care of me when we were growing up. I loved our phone calls after we lived far away from each other. Greg and the kids always knew when I was on the phone with you because I just laughed and laughed. I take comfort in knowing you are with Mama and Daddy again--you loved them so much. Some day we will all be together as a family again and what a reunion that will be! I'll bring the peanut butter. Much, much love to you, Pat-pat, Love, Kathy
