Phyllis Hope Hoback, 77, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
She was born on April 22, 1948, daughter of the late Wilmer and Juanita Trent Morris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary W. Hoback.
She is survived by her son, Shannon Lewey (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Tyler Lewey (Josie), Austin Lewey (Kassidy Peters), Dylan Lewey, Cameron Lewey (Lucy) and Finley Lewey; her great-grandchildren, Tessa Lewey, Patrick Lewey and Jensen Lewey; and her stepdaughters, Angela Taylor (Jeff) and Heather Rhodes (Stephen).
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared with her family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.

Hope was best friends with my cousin Lois Lucas who lived in Pembroke VA.
Hope lived across the bridge going towards Pearisburg.
I would spend my summers with Lois. The three of us would drive to the Dairy Delite in Pearisburg at night and sit in the car with the radio playing and check out the guys driving through
It was a wonderful summer experience for me, and I feel so fortunate that Hope was a part of all of it
