Sharron Honaker Obituary

Sharron Harris Honaker went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
She was born in Roanoke, VA in 1948 and lived here for the entirety of her life. Sharron worked with Shenandoah Life Insurance Company for 47 years, starting in 1967 until retirement in 2014.
Sharron was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Honaker; her mother, Corrie Elizabeth Harris; and her father, Burks Dalton Harris.
She is survived by her loving son, David Tipton (Tip) Honaker and wife, Angela; grandsons, Zachary Tipton Honaker and his wife, Hannah, and Zian Honaker; great-granddaughter, Corrie Tipton Honaker; Tip's brother-in-law, Richard P. Boitnott Jr. (Bubba); sister-in-law, Kathy Turner; nephews, Austin, Brandon, and Will Turner; and many cousins and friends.
Sharron enjoyed collecting antiques with her late husband James, especially Longaberger baskets, as she was a consultant for many years. She loved her Siamese cats as she had two, Binkie and Kia, and her grand dog, Bella. Sharron loved watching her grandsons play baseball, going to lunch with her Byrd sisters, and spending time with her family. Sharron will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
The family would also like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their care, comfort, and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Oakey's North Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Oakey's North Chapel. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be shared with her family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.

Sharron was my friend and lunch buddy. We shared many lunch get togethers, from Olive Garden to Harbor Inn and even Pete's Deli and Red Lobster when they were open. Even picked up pizza from New York Pizza and took it to her house a time or two (always loved going to see her and her beautiful home). She will be missed.
