Suzanne Luckado Mitchell

Suzanne L. Mitchell, 79, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024. She was born in Fort Rucker, Alabama to the late Clyde Beckwith Luckado and Judith Hilda Swanson Luckado.

Suzanne grew up in the Roanoke Valley and attended Cave Spring High School where she graduated from. After graduating, she went on to work as a Certified Lab Assistant at Roanoke Memorial Rehab where she worked for six years. She loved planting flowers, watching wildlife in the woods behind her house, and beach trips!

In addition to her parents, Suzanne was also preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Jane Luckado McCray.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her husband of 57 years, Gary C. Mitchell; her daughters, Kristi Mitchell Huffman (Tracy) and Amy Lynn Mitchell; her grandchildren, Emily Paige Huffman and Lexi Leigh Himmelbrand; sister, Jennifer L. Saunders (Mike); and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Amedisys-Hospice, Terri Hash, Carmelita, Monica, and Amber for their care of Suzanne during this time.

A service for Suzanne will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Evergreen Burial Park in the Chapel of Light, 1302 Summit Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24015 with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
