William Frank "Bunkie" EANES

William Frank (Bunkie) Eanes, 59, of Madison, a Madison County Sheriff's Deputy, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1952, in Roanoke, son of the late Bobby Frank Eanes. Mr. Eanes was a retired Virginia State Police Officer and former Culpeper County Sheriff's Deputy. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Aylor. He was past president of the Virginia D.A.R.E. Association, awarded the 2007 Virginia D.A.R.E. officer of the year, high school D.A.R.E. teacher; Madison County Public Servant of the year; and a member of Madison County Football Boosters and Lawman Hunt Club. Bunkie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Aylor Eanes, of Madison; mother, June McGee Eanes, of Vinton: three sons, Adrian "Ace" Corey Eanes and wife, Kristina, Drew Fielding Eanes, and Bobby Trent Eanes, all of Madison; a brother, Chuck Eanes and wife, Linda, of Vinton; three sisters, Teresa Atkins and husband, Dean, of Ferrum, Margaret Wimmer, of Roanoke, and Rose Ketner and husband, Denny, of Clemmons, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Adrian "Deuce" Corey Eanes II and Gunnar Wyatt Eanes.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery conducted by Pastor Terri Hoffman. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Sheriff's Office D.A.R.E. Fund, P.O.
