Susie Oxendine had many passions outside of her love of spending time with family. She loved learning. She earned her associates degree from Tidewater Community College while raising three children. She explored the internet, read books, and watched educational programs to enrich her knowledge. She also enjoyed listening to music, singing karaoke with family, celebrating holidays, and living life to the fullest. She loved nature and spent a lot of time outside. Susie was often found sitting or napping on her deck swing listening to the birds, soaking in the sun, and enjoying the beauty of her flowers.
Susie was known for her gentle ways, generosity, and giving spirit. Her love of life and acts of kindness inspired all whose lives she touched.

Suzie was a wonderful lady! She was blessed with so many fruits of the spirit. I recall Suzie always being friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Suzie, frequently asked how our families were doing, even my father before his death in 2010 in Texas. Suzie was genuine and salt of the earth. Suzie was right there with Al, to support my wife, through the loss of her Mom and Dad, and a painful divorce. We are as close as a family could be. Al, you were a wonderful caring husband to Suzie, and girls you were wonderful daughters to her. May you all hold tight to the memories you’ve made, and know you all were there for her when she needed you most. That is the greatest blessing anyone could ever hope for.
God bless,
Paul Dunlap

Loving neighbor. We will miss flowers in the mailbox,
smiles share while walking. Memories of girls growing up, neighborhood picnics.
