LEIGH ELLEN HOLROYD

ANDERSON, S.C. — Leigh Ellen Holroyd, born July 31, 1966, passed away on Sept. 27, 2022 from long-standing health issues.

She was predeceased by her parents Robert Frank Holroyd and Mary Ellen Findley Holroyd. She is survived by her brother Robert Frank Holroyd Jr.; sister, Mary Lisa Holroyd Castro; brother-in-law, Andrew Scott Castro; nephew, John Robert Castro; and niece, Megan Nicole Castro.

After high school, she worked and then returned to school, earning her Bachelor's degree from Anderson University and working towards her Masters at Clemson University. In addition to her love of music, Leigh loved cooking, the beach, Jimmy Buffet and trivia.

A service will be held at The McDougald Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Following the service, there will be a coffee and social in the McDougald Family Center.

Thinking of the Holroyd family at this time. We had so much fun putting on plays for each other, making up songs, etc.---I remember one Leigh sang about "13 cats in her garage". We were so silly. I will always cherish those carefree days with the Holroyd girls. Lisa, I hope you are well and surrounded by those you love. I miss seeing you.

I have lots of fond memories of Leigh in Forest Acres. We´d play into the night, listening to the radio and playing cards. Lisa and Robert, your family is in my thoughts and prayers. REst in peace, Leigh.

Leigh and Lisa are among my favorite childhood friends. Playing in the woods near the RR tracks and riding our bikes around Forest Acres, I am forever grateful for my time with you. I am so terribly sorry for the loss of Leigh. My heart goes out to Lisa, Robert and your whole family.
