Pernell Locklear
RED SPRINGS — Mr. Pernell Locklear, 77, of 2989 Daniel McLeod Road, Red Springs, North Carolina, was born on Oct. 23, 1938, to the late Mr. Avery Locklear and the late Mrs. Pearlie Mae Locklear in Robeson County, North Carolina. Mr. Pernell entered his eternal home on July 12, 2016, at the Southeastern Hospice House, Lumberton, North Carolina.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Locklear and Demerica Locklear.
A homegoing service for Mr. Pernell Locklear will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home, Hardin's Chapel, Red Springs, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Springs, North Carolina, the Revs. Donald Bullard and Carl Pevia, officiating.
Mr. Pernell leaves to cherish him memories: his wife of 56 years, Lucinda (Brenda) Jones Locklear of the home; a son, Carnell (Amy) Locklear of Red Springs, North Carolina; two daughters, Denise (Larry) Jones of Red Springs, North Carolina, and Teresa (Danny) Walker, of Cheraw, South Carolina; four brothers, Fermon (Martha) Locklear, of Red Springs, North Carolina, Herbert (Janet) Locklear and Joseph Locklear, all of Shannon, North Carolina, and Donald (Jennifer) Locklear, of Raeford, North Carolina; three sisters, Mabel Wininger, of French Lick, Indiana, Learie Jane Lowery of Wagram, North Carolina, and Pauline Locklear, of Raeford, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Terry Jones, Belinda Jones, Nakita Dean Locklear, Eric Locklear and Cameron Locklear; a great-grandchild, Diana Locklear; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to all of Mr. Pernell's caregivers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, Red Springs, North Carolina.
