Jimmie Shields Obituary


Mrs. Jimmie Frances Savage Shields, 72 of Covington died at her home on May 26, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was born in Newton County to the late James Robert and Elizabeth Wiley Savage in July of 1935. Mrs. Shields was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington and was a volunteer at the Solid Rock Baptist Church Food Bank. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved gardening and reading. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty two years, Mr. Garland (Coolidge) Shields, her daughters, Amy Roll, Gaston, SC., Sharon Temples, Covington, daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Jim Weatherly, Sugar Hill, Ga., Justine and Jeff Wahaus, Buford, Ga. and Sidney and Mark Lang, Otsego, MN., sister, Mrs. Mary Newsome and brother, Mr. Bobby Savage, both of Covington, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 29th from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Harwell Wheeler Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Roy Kiser and Rev.
