Kurt Heine Obituary

Obituary for Kurt Garwood Heine

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kurt Garwood Heine, who left us on April 17, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the age of 72.

Kurt was a graduate of Cheboygan High School in Westland, MI. After graduation he joined the Air Force and served in a training capacity during the Vietnam War.

Among his many talents, Kurt was a very competitive golfer and softball player as well as a gardener. In church as well in softball, Kurt always wanted to put others first. He tried to make sure others were the focus of the attention rather than himself. It was his leadership which endeared many to him to include the American Legion 158 were he served as the accountant for the local branch. He was creative and thoughtful and would always go the extra mile on even the smallest details. His love for sports was reflected in his fanaticism for the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets and the Atlanta Braves.

He worked as an accountant/bookkeeper for years where he met and ultimately married his wife of 25 years, Linda Jones. Kurt and Linda moved to Florida to enjoy their retirement years and loved their time near the waters in the St. Pete area.

Kurt is preceded in death by his wife Linda. He is survived by his brothers Kevin, Kris (Melissa), Karl (Molly), sisters Katherina and Karin (Greg), his sons Matthew and Jeremiah, and survived by many more family and friends.

Services for Kurt will be held at Abiding Grace Lutheran Church, Covington, Georgia Saturday, July 26 at 10 A.M.
