ZACHARY GORDON Obituary
On April 4th, 2003, at Gwinnett Medical Center, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the Lord gave to Howard and Jennifer Gordon their youngest son of three children, Zachary Cameron Gordon. Zachary was a rising second grade student at R.D. Head Elementary School in Lilburn, Georgia. Zachary was a zealous member of Imani Christian Center's Children's Church. As a member he was adamant about being a part of the group, by singing praises to God in his own special way and making his presence known through his smile and precious hugs. Zachary enjoyed coloring pictures of cows, horses and SpongeBob SquarePants. Zachary also enjoyed supporting his older brothers Gabriel & Gregory while they performed in their first chorus concerts at Mountain Park Elementary School. Zachary was always eager to show compassion for others when he could sense they needed a pat on the back or a sweet hug of reassurance. He was a joy to be around his classmates, neighbors, friends, his Nana and a host of other family members. Zachary departed from our lives on June 10th, 2010, at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Howard Lee Jr and Jennifer Simmons-Gordon; two brothers, Gabriel H. Gordon, Gregory A. Gordon; his loving grandparents, Ms. Lillian A. Simmons of Grayson, Georgia, Mr. Howard Lee Gordon, Sr, and Mrs. Rosa L. Gordon-Joyner of Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia respectively; four aunts, and three uncles, along with a host of cousins, classmates, friends and neighbors. Zachary has the best crayons and markers that heaven can offer. I can only imagine the pictures he has on God's refrigerator. May each of you experience the love and comfort of God through the Holy Spirit, family, friends, and neighbors.

I have the most amazing family, friends, community and sister/brothers in Christ! I may be Zach's mom but please know that your scriptures, meals and hugs and encouragement are keeping our family strong. I am so happy that you brought your three boys to Savannah to see our President back in March. Knowing you has been such a blessing. Meeting your children and your mother was an added joy. I snapped a picture of your Mother and Zachary sitting a brief moment; if yall don't have it I will locate it. I'm glad I got to meet them before Zach's passing. What wonderful dear boys. Know that I'm praying for your family's continued walk through this passage of faith... Love to all and especially to his Brothers at this time.
