Caroline Healey 1937- 2025 Loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandmother, and sister, Caroline Healey of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1937, in Rock Springs, WY, the first born child to the late Frank and Ann (Kazola) Lebar. She was a devoted sister to her siblings Frank and MaryAnn as they grew up their entire childhood in Rock Springs where their father proudly served as a mining engineer for the Union Pacific Mining Company. It is there she met the love of her life Jack L. Healey. They were married on June 2, 1957 and lived in Rock Springs where they welcomed their two sons, George and Michael. Jack had begun his lifelong career with Mountain Fuel (Questar), which brought the family to Salt Lake City in 1961. In December,1966, daughter Jacqueline was born, and their lives were rooted in Salt Lake City for nearly 35 more years. Caroline's most beloved role was as Grandma to their 9 grandchildren, Matthew, David, and Sean Healey, Lindsey (Healey) Pollack, Michael Healey, and Kristen (Healey) Searle, and John (Jack), Caroline(Carrie), and Jeannette Dimpel. She was particularly delighted that she could provide enthusiastic and financial support for the college education of all of her grandchildren, and to witness each of them graduate. Her devotion as Grandma only grew stronger as she became the proud Great Grandma to 7 great grandchildren, Amitai, Eva, James, Pauline, John, Thomas, and Jackson.
In Salt Lake City, Caroline dedicated her life to raising her three children. She was tremendously active in their public education, scouting activities, and athletic endeavors. Additionally, she served as a page in the Utah State Legislature and was a prolific ceramics artist creating beautiful works of art for her home and family. In 1979, Caroline and Jack bought a parcel of heaven along the Blacks Fork River in the Bridger Valley of Uinta County, WY. This became, and remains, the Healey Family sanctuary that Caroline and Jack were so proud of, simply known as "The Cabin". As a native Wyoming girl, she had instinctive love of geology, the forest, wild flowers, birds and the animals that lived there, as well as the majesty of God's creation of the mountains. This love was poured out in the efforts she and Jack made to build much of The Cabin with their own hands. Caroline treasured the moments shared at The Cabin every summer with generations of Healey families, a 40 year tradition that will endure for years and generations to come with family and friends.
In January 2000 Caroline and Jack moved to The Woodlands, TX to be closer to two of their children's families. She was a loving, tireless caregiver for 15 years to her husband Jack until he succumbed to cancer in May 2006. In the summer of 2017, Caroline moved back to Salt Lake City, where her family brought her into their loving and safe home as Caroline's health gradually began to deteriorate. Caroline had a deep faith, and was active in the all the parish's she worshipped at, principally St. Cyril and Methodius in Rock Springs, WY, St. Ambrose in Salt Lake City, UT, St. Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands, TX, and finally at St. John The Baptist in Draper, UT.
Caroline is survived by her son George Healey and wife Cheryl, son Michael Healey and wife Lisa, daughter Jacqueline Dimpel and husband John, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and her siblings Frank Lebar and MaryAnn Lebar.
