Dewey was my Godfather & served in my military wedding party. My Brother Al & I were extremely fortunate to grow up around Dewey & Susan. Next to my Dad, Dewey was the one who taught my brother & I how to hunt & fish. We lost contact for several years but connected within the last several years & I was fortunate to talk to Dewey several weeks ago. We he able to I'm sure he'd say he misses Susan, David & he'll miss Eva, his loyal companion after Susan passed away. Dewey was an avid outdoorsman who liked to be outside doing almost anything, especially after he retired. Dewey was also an avid Patriot & very proud of his service in the Army in Vietnam. Dewey was wounded in Vietnam as an Infantry radioman & some may not know it but to the very end he carried the Soviet machine gun round in his back after an ambush. It was never removed because it was too close to his spine. He never complained about it but for some reason like to show off his x-rays. Dewey loved a good joke, especially if it was either very funny or a bit off color. I knew Dewey wasn't doing well but I really didn't expect this. Fortunately for him he's no longer in pain, unfortunately for the rest of us that knew him he's no longer with us but they say no one ever really dies if we continue to remember them. Good Bless Dewey, fair weather & winds until we meet in Valhalla.
