Elizabeth Anne "Ibbey" Branner

Elizabeth "Ibbey" Anne Crim Branner, 77, of Broadway, died October 4, 2025 at her home. She was born February 24, 1948 in Shenandoah County and was a daughter to the late John C. and Mary Hutzler Crim. She retired from Rockingham County Public Schools as a home economics teacher. She was active all of her life and enjoyed cycling and hiking with L.B. She also enjoyed walking the track with her friends. Once L.B. restored his Healey, they enjoyed driving all over the Valley. Ibbey enjoyed baking and was active with her friends in the Broadway Young Homemakers Club. She was a free spirit and was much loved by her friends and family. She attended both Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market and Broadway Presbyterian Church. In 1974, she married Lawrence Bradford "L.B." Branner, III, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2017. Surviving her is a daughter; Katie Branner, of Broadway, a son; L. Bradford Branner, IV, of Grottoes, a sister; Jane Stephenson, of Evington and a brother; Charles Crim, of Mechanicsville. A graveside service will be held at 1PM on Friday at Linville Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Broadway. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-7 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway during which time the casket will be closed.
