Patricia Gayle Grant Bennett

1940 - 2026

Patricia Gayle Grant Bennett, age 86, of Rome, GA, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at a local hospital.

Pat was born on February 27, 1940, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late J.R. Grant and the late Johnnie Ingle Grant. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Allen Bennett, to whom she was married on March 12, 1957. Pat spent most of her life in Rome, graduating from the first class of East Rome High School in 1959. She and her family owned and operated Grant's Pak-A-Sak for many years. Pat retired after 25 years of service from Berry College Food Service as Assistant Food Service Director and Banquet Manager.

Pat was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church serving in several areas of the church. Planning and preparing Wednesday night suppers, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and a volunteer receptionist for the church, to name just a few. She loved her church and did everything she could to serve the Lord. After her retirement, she spent many years as a greeter with Miller & Richards Funeral Home and most recently with Henderson & Sons Funeral Homes. Pat was a true servant at heart and spent the last year of her life volunteering at the Baptist center and helping anyone she could. She fought the good fight and finished her race and is now rejoicing at the feet of Jesus for eternity.

Survivors include her son, Tim Bennett (Phillip), Steele, AL; and an extended family of Sam and Linda Cotta and their children, Adrian and Brandon, of CA.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Evans and her nephew, Rev. Jimmy Tanner, officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 6pm until 8pm at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.

Pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, and include: Michael Graham, Sean Nelson, Marvin Griffin.
