Sean Free Obituary

Mr. Sean Free, age 40, of Conyers, GA, passed away on June 14, 2022, at Piedmont Henry Hospital.

Sean was born on June 29, 1981, son of Rhonda and Clint Free of Conyers, GA. Sadly, his father, Clint Free, passed away the day after Sean on June 15, 2022. He worked for the Henry County Sheriff's Department for 16 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He loved his job and worked as often as he could. Sean was considered like a Swiss-Army knife in that he could handle many jobs and do them all very well. He began his law enforcement career at the age of 21. Over the years, Sean enjoyed relationships with mentors, partners, and friends with some of the most special people among them including Elizabeth Kendall, Justin Benefield, Hans Ellifson, and Thomas Benson.

Sean loved Jesus and was inspired to minister to those in need. He worked with the Shop with a Cop program and often enlisted the help of his young cousins. He had a great passion and support for the Wounded Warrior Project. He always wanted to make life better for those he met. Sean enjoyed spending time with his friends, listening to music, and just relaxing.

Sean is survived by his mother, Rhonda Free; his sister, Hollie Peek (Nathan); nephews, Miles and Lucas Peek; and many cousins whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 1pm at Zion Baptist Church, 7037 GA Highway 212, Covington, GA with Pastor Reed Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Zion Baptist Church on Monday from 10am until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org or to the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home at www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org.

Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services, Covington, GA, has charge of the arrangements.

Sean, Thank you for your friendship - I enjoyed the many times we were able to work together on so many various part time ventures. You are a one of a kind that will be missed in a major way for years to come. You have no idea what it meant to my family and I for you to have shown up at my house to offer your assistance when I were down due to surgery. Your the kind of man and law enforcement officer that this world needs, as I said before you will forever be missed and you will live on in the hearts & minds of those whom truly knew you sir.
I pray for your family the peace and comfort our Lord Jesus will offer through his Love.
