She is survived by six children, James (Eileen) Sturtevant Jr. of Lee Center, Randy (Connie) Sturtevant of West Leyden, Sharlene (Robert) Kenyon of Boonville, Constance Matt of West Leyden, Robert Sturtevant of West Leyden, and Joseph (Stacey) Sturtevant of Tennessee; two siblings, Melanie Brewer of Newport and Mary Carpenter of Tennessee; 33 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and her devoted cat, Lilly. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James K. Sturtevant Sr. in 2005; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and James Blair; and three siblings, Eugene Young, Donna Scheve, and Dorothy Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Hailesboro Cemetery in Gouverneur. Contributions in Betty's name may be made to the West Leyden Fire Department, PO Box 205, West Leyden, NY 13489.

Arrangements are in the care of Mills Funeral Home, Boonville.
