Beverly Bubel Obituary

Beverly Joan Bubel passed away at her home with her loving family by her side on July 5, 2024.

Bev was born on July 6, 1942, in Utica, NY to Edward and Marjorie Boxall. She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1960 and completed her training in radiology in 1962. On December 19, 1964, she married the love of her life Roger G. Bubel of Utica and would spend the rest of her days building a beautiful life with him.

Bev dedicated her professional life to helping others. She forged a career in healthcare operating as an X-ray technician first at Rose Hospital in Rome, NY and later Slocum Dickson in Utica. After returning to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Utica College in 1998 she became the Director of Admissions at the Lutheran Home in Clinton, NY.

Bev enjoyed so much in life including cooking, baking, shopping, gardening, reading, watching her television shows and movies, playing golf and traveling. She celebrated and suffered along with her favorite football team in Washington and her Yankees. But nothing could compare to hosting Sunday Supper and holiday celebrations with her family and her dogs, the most important traditions in her life.

Bev is survived by her husband Roger; her children and their spouses: Kimberly and David LaForest (Westmoreland, NY), Roger Jr. and Rebecca Bubel (Galway, NY), Felicia and Nick Sardina (Whitesboro, NY); her grandchildren and partners: Jamie LaForest and fiancé Fran Andoloro (Westmoreland, NY), Jessica Sardina and fiancé Dylan Allen (Whitesboro, NY), Nicholas Sardina (Whitesboro); her sole great-grandchild Anthony Andoloro; and extended family, honorary family members and friends.

Special thanks to Kathy Smyth for providing compassionate assistance to the Bubel family and loving care for Bev during these difficult days.

Friends are invited to a calling hour Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11am at Dimbleby Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro, NY. A memorial service for family and friends will follow at 12pm.

Roger, Betty & I were both saddened to learn of Beverly's passing. We recall our visit to your home last fall while in NY. Echoing Carols post, so many good memories of those IBM days. Some of them include her trying to knock down a tree with her knee while riding double on an 18hp Skidoo. Tobogganing on Shoemaker's hill. Celebrating after our 1997 Cedar Lake Member Guest "Crazy" win. Meeting up in Myrtle Beach for a round of golf. The Halloween party at Bob Hunter's. Your visits to our FL home. Visiting Larry & Ella in VA. And of course, attending each other's children's weddings. We will miss her. Where has the time gone? Sorry we cannot be there with you and your family.
