Daniel Hayes Obituary

Daniel R. Hayes, Jr., 44, of Cazenovia, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2025, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He was born in Rome on July 9, 1981, a son of Daniel R. and Roxanne (Burk) Hayes, Sr.

Dan was currently taking college courses towards a degree to allow him to follow his dream of working on cruise ships. He loved the outdoors and was always hiking, kayaking and camping. Enjoyed working on cars and riding his motorcycle.

Dan is survived by his parents, Daniel Sr. and Roxanne; a daughter, Mercedes Parry (Blake); two sons, Devon Jones and Carson Soriano; a sister, Amy Hayes; maternal grandfather, C Ward Burk; a grandson, Braxton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Shawn Hayes.

Dan's family would like to thank the staff and nurses, especially Shelby, Nicole, and Janet, on the 6th Floor Medical ICU at Upstate Medical Center for their wonderful care and compassion.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 11th at 1:00 p.m. at Fish Creek Landing Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.
