David Conley Obituary

David R. Conley, 71, of Rome/Floyd, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at home, with his family by his side.

He was born in Ilion, NY, on October 12, 1953, the son of the late Robert Conley and the late Esther Miller (Geviss). He attended Frankfort Schuyler Schools and graduated with the Class of 1972. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Sergeant before being Honorably Discharged on October 3, 1977. He later attended and graduated from the Utica School of Commerce in 1988 with a business degree. He was married to Cheri Allard (Bartlett) on May 1, 1999, in Rome, a blessed union of 25 years. Dave was previously married to Deborah McCraith (Abrams), always maintaining their friendship. Dave was employed by Remington Arms and later, Bank of New York, Oriskany, for 28 years. Dave attended Morning Star Ministry, Frankfort, for many years.

His greatest enjoyment was watching his grandchildren play sports, watching football, Hallmark Christmas movies and visiting the Adirondacks. Dave enjoyed helping others, no matter the task. He was always there when you needed him.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Cheri; daughter, Tristi Hessler, of Whitesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Lynnette Allard, of Blossvale and Joshua and Stephanie Conley, of Frankfort; siblings, Pat and Ed Lindsay and Kathleen Conley, of Schuyler, Mark and Anna Conley, of Herkimer and Kelly and Thomas Adams, of Schuyler; cherished grandchildren, Madison and McKenzie Allard, Collin and Lily Hessler, Isabella, Sophia, Lucia and Ronan Conley; in-laws, Marilyn Conley, Claudia Miller, Denise Rieck, Rhonda Catanzaro, Debi Gibilaro, David and Wanda Bartlett, Kevin Bartlett, Mark and Laurie Bartlett, Michael and Debbie Bartlett, Kimberly and Steve White and Brian and Wendy Bartlett; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his stepfather, Kenneth Miller; stepmother, Irene Conley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Norma Bartlett; brothers and sister-in-law, Daniel Conley, Robert and his wife, Mary Conley, Joseph Miller, Carl Miller and William Miller; and brothers-in-law, Martin Rieck and Joseph Catanzaro.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 09:30 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort, where a funeral service will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Wollaber. Calling hours will be on Friday, November 29 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Dave's memory, may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256, Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or a charity of one's choice.
