Eleanor Broadbent Obituary
Eleanor was a stay-at-home mother of four and devoted wife and grandmother. She had a passion for cooking, baking, decorating and gardening. Later in life she enjoyed her job as a Manager of Mapledale Acres Mobile Home Park in Barneveld. Her greatest joy was being with her husband, children, grandchildren, and all of her family and friends.
Surviving besides her husband, Allen, are two daughters, Leslie DeHimer and Lisa Bates; two sons, William Wadsworth (Beth) and Jamie Broadbent (Kristi); eight grandchildren, Scott Washburn (Mandee), Kimberly DeHimer (Kate), Kevin DeHimer, William Bates II (Diana), Alicia Clementi (John), William Wadsworth II (Sarah), and Alivia and Alania Wadsworth; six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; three very special nieces, Robin Kinne, Pam Wilmot (Loren) and Wendy Piekelniak (Mike); and several cousins and many brothers and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Francis (Betty); two beloved grandsons, Jesse A. Broadbent and William C. DeHimer; and a son-in-law, William F. DeHimer.
Eleanor's family would like to thank the staff at Rome Health, Rehab Unit, for excellent care and loving support given to their mom and her family. Special thanks to Shelley and Noah.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at 4:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in Townsend Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 2-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Eleanor's memory to the Rome Rescue Mission.
