Marion L. Hoffman

Marion L. (Mead) Hoffman passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord on September 26, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Rome, NY, the daughter of the late Bruce and Eleanor (Wall) Mead. She graduated from Rome Free Academy. In her youth, Marion trained as a concert pianist; music was a great source of joy her entire life. She also was an excellent cook for her family and anyone who came to visit. Marion was an avid reader and loved watching a good love story on television. If she was not reading a good book or engrossed in an enchanting movie, evenings would find her putting together puzzles.

Marion was a fiercely independent woman who worked hard to support her family. After they were grown, she moved to Florida where she managed a golf course, and then a hotel in Panama City Beach.

An about-face at retirement saw her pursuing a second career as a beautician. Eventually, she returned to New York to be near family. Not one to be idle, Marion worked many years as a secretary for Daman Construction. In her later years, she loved taking rides in the country and enjoying the beauty of God's creation.

First and foremost she was a mother to her four children who survive her: Sandy Pascucci, Robert (Sheila) Hoffman, Bonnie (Thomas) Panara, and Mark Hoffman. She was also the proud Nana to seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Nicholas Pascucci.

There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family with burial in Rome Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome.
