Rebecca LaManque Obituary

Rebecca J. LaManque, 81, of Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Waterville Residential Care Center.

She was born on September 23, 1942 in Utica, a daughter of the late Willard and Flora (Bristol) Corts. Becky graduated from Whitesboro Central Schools and furthered her education at SUNY Oswego and graduated with an Associate's Degree from Northern Virginia Community College. In 1966, she was united in marriage to Richard J. LaManque in Westmoreland and shared a blessed union of 35 years, until his passing on April 22, 2001. Becky was employed as a Library Aide for the US Patent Office in Washington, D.C. as well as various public schools. Having great faith, she was very active with the Episcopal Church and became a Lay Minister with Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hampton, VA, the area to which she and Richard had retired to be close to their grandsons.

Becky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great friend to many. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games. Becky often traveled to spend time with family and particularly to the St. Lawrence River and anywhere else that she could be near the water. She also enjoyed taking a leisurely walk with friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Murphy, Tyngsborough, MA; son, William (Sya) LaManque, Hampton, VA; grandsons, William and Michael LaManque; brother, Lois (Cecilia) Corts; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alex Robenski, Jean (Walter) Fedor, Nancy (Dale) Hartman, Helen Tyczynski, and John LaManque; niece, Deidre (Mark) Gorga and nephew, Donald (Leola) Robenski. She was predeceased by her sister, Diane Robenski; niece, Jennifer Cortese, and brother-and-sisters-in-law, Joan Effland, Daniel Tycyznski and Joyce LaManque.

Becky's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and friends at Brookdale Clinton and with the nurses and staff with Waterville Residential Care Community for all their wonderful care and compassion.

In keeping with Becky's wishes, there will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro.

Remembrances in Becky's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
