Angelo Spataro Obituary

ANGELO A. SPATARO, 84 ROCKFORD - Angelo A. Spataro, 84, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, in Provena Cor Mariae Center. Born Feb. 25, 1924, in Rockford, the son of Joseph and Rose (Lafasto) Spataro. Angelo was self-employed in auto parts sales. He is a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II. He attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Angelo is survived by children, David (Mary Kay) Spataro, Darren (Ginger) Albano, Sharon Barcellona, Kathleen Van Vleck and Angela Smith-Kinlaw; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nie-ces and nephews; brother, Peter (Mary Kay) Spataro; and sister, Susan Fasula. Predeceased by parents; great-grandson, Anthony; sister, Josephine; brothers, Sam, Raymond and Frank. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St., Rockford, with visitation from 9 a.m. to time of service; the Franciscan Friars will officiate. Burial in St. Mary/St. James Cemetery. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Road, Rockford.
