Dennis Ohman Obituary
Dennis M. Ohman, 78, of Rockford, husband and father passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, in his home. Born June 29, 1938, in Rockford, the son of Russell B. Ohman and M. Virginia Keough and step-father, Edwin R. Haesemeyer. Married Christine J. Mulcahey on May 18, 1968, in Rockford. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps 1956-1958. Graduate of Rockford College 1969-1973. He retired from the IBM Corporation as an Advisory Systems Engineer and worked at Barnes International in their IS Department for a few years thereafter. He was a member of Star in the East Lodge 166, Freeport Consistory, Tebala Shrine Temple, Veteran Tebala Shrine Oriental Band, Charter Member of the Kepotah Sportsman's Club, Shirland, and member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Rockford. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. Survivors include his wife, Christine; daughter, Katherine K. (Norm) Kumins of Chagrin Falls, OH; grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia, Joshua; and brother, Gary Ohman of Loves Park.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4407 Highcrest Road, Rockford. Private burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Our thoughts are with you, Chris, and your family. We were your neighbors across the street on Wynbrook Drive a long time ago.
I always will remember how special you and Denny were to Mike & Ryan. I am so glad you
now have Grandchildren, since you had such a great bond with kids.
If you want to get together sometime again, let me know. We are still in the
phonebook, but you're not.
