Diane Johnson Obituary

Diane E. Johnson, 62 SHIRLAND - Diane E. Johnson, 62, of Shirland died at 10:53 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Soldiers Grove, Wis., to Kenneth and June (Copus) Wines. She graduated from Shirland High School and attended Hononegah High School. Diane married Dennis R. Johnson on Dec. 18, 1965, in Beloit, Wis. She was a member of Shirland Fireman's Auxiliary. Diane had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, close family and friends. She would spend hours a day watching the birds outside her house. She spent countless hours in her garden and enjoyed camping. Survivors include her husband, Dennis R. Johnson of Shirland; daughter, Diana (Jason) Ovist of Beloit; sons, Del (Leanne) Johnson of Shirland and Dwight (Jeanine) Johnson of Roscoe; grandchildren, Kelsie Duzan-Ovist, Courtney and Corbin Ovist, Parker and Alia Johnson, Kylee Johnson, Tavis and Teagan Towns; sister, Helen (Larry) Radant of Roscoe; brother, William (Deborah) Wines Sr. of Shirland and Kevin Wines of Brodhead, Wis.; sisters, Mary (John Sr.) Harris of Shirland, Robin (William) Gesell of South Beloit; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brother, Kenneth Wines Jr. Graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, in Shirland Township Cemetery, rural Shirland, with Nancy Moate officiating. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family in Diane's name at P.O. Denny, Del, and family - I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you all. I will miss Diane out camping at Sugar River this summer.
