Dorothy Matzke Obituary

DOROTHY E. MATZKE, 84 ROCKFORD - Dorothy E. Matzke, 84, of Rockford passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, at Provena Cor Mariae Center. Dorothy was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Rockford. She married Jack Matzke on Oct. 29, 1955, in Rockford. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dorothy worked many years as a security officer at Bergners, and then as a sales clerk until she retired. Survived by children, Jackie (Darrin) Tullock of Rockford and Bruce, Tom and Steve Matzke, all of Jacksonville Fla.; and granddaughter, Jodi Matzke of Jacksonville. Predeceased by her husband, Jack. The family will be forever grateful to Dorothy's family at Provena Cor Mariae Center and at Churchview Dialysis for all the special care and love that they showed for Dorothy. Memorial service at 9 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Provena Cor Mariae Center, 3330 Maria Linden Drive, Rockford; Dr. Charles V. Olson of Calvary Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Jackie, We will miss Dorothy greatly at ChurchView Dialysis. She always arrived with a warm smile and beautiful sense of humor that made our jobs alot easier because of her. She will be forever remembered by us all.

I will miss Dorothy so much. always a smile and full of good advice. She just lit up when I brought my grandson to visit, even changed his name to sammy, he din't care just kept grinning at her. I can't pass her room without tearing up. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, mary
