Frances Ingrassia Obituary

FRANCES C. INGRASSIA, 101 ROCKFORD - Frances C. Ingrassia died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at home at the age of 101. She was born in Kokomo Indiana November 21, 1913 the daughter of Giovanna and Leonardo Sciortino. Frances graduated from Indiana Business College then moved to Rockford IL., in 1930 where she married Frank J. Ingrassia June 9, 1935 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was an active member and past president of the National Catholic Society of Foresters Court 674, sang in the choir at St. Anthony's, St. Peter's, and St. Bernadette's Churches and is presently a member of St. Rita's Church and Widow's Club. She has enjoyed playing bridge with close friends for over seventy years and loved to cook and entertain friends and family members including her many nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren. Survivors include sons Ronald F. (Patty) Ingrassia of Rockford and Leonard M. (Laura) Ingrassia of Lewisburg, PA., Grandchildren Nicole (Joe) Termanas of Lake in the Hills, IL., and Dana (Ray) Onorato of West Linn, OR., great-grandchildren Paige Green and Jenna Termanas of Lake in the Hills, IL., Daniel and Donna Ingrassia of Statesville, NC., Evan and Peyton Onorato of West Linn, OR., and great-great grandchild Sebastian Potter plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and wonderful friends. Especially close niece Joan (Jean) Bukovitz, Aurora, IL. Frances is predeceased by her parents, husband Frank J. Ingrassia in 1981, second son Frank X. Ingrassia in 2004, grandson Julian Ingrassia, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. The Family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Northern Illinois Hospice for their exceptional care during her final days. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Saint Rita's Church. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Northern Illinois Hospice or the Sara Ingrassia Dictionary Fund.
