I was deeply saddened to hear of Jeff's passing, while I was out of town. We had worked together at Lin-Act 25 years ago, and had played softball together on a few league teams. I always thought of Jeff as a very honest and gunuine person, hard working and family oriented, with a strong faith to guide him. He truly was a class individual. I never had the opportunity to get to know his family, but I can appreciate your loss. Knowing he is well cared for and in good company now, knocking in runs to all fields, makes me smile. My life is better having had known Jeff,if only for a short while. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dear Rushing family,
We were so saddened to hear this morning of Jeff's departing this life. I had the privilege of meeting Jeff and Pat almost 30 years ago playing basketball in high school. We were rivals on the court but I enjoyed a friendship with both Jeff and Pat off the court. I'll always remember admire Jeff's work ethic on the court. I'm sure it was a quality he carried with him through his life. As great of a competitor as he was, he was just as much a really nice guy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. So sorry we didn't hear sooner. We do look forward to seeing Jeff again one day!

I was shocked to see Jeff's name in the paper today (Friday 3-28). Jeff and I played basketball against one another in church league and he always gave 100% and could jump to the moon. He was the most honest player I have played against and worked very hard everytime out. He was one you wanted on your team. He was the high-standard.
Jeff became my salesman for fluid power products way back when he worked for Fluid Control Products, and was my preferred choice because he knew his stuff. I wish I had looked at this yesterday because I would have gone to the service.
To his family; I can not conceive how great a loss this is...I was devastated. Why do the best ones have to leave early????? He was a good friend to me. I will miss him and his basketball stories of the glory days we shared.

We lost a piece of our hearts this week, and a very good friend.

I am so sorry Wilma & Pat for your loss. My memories of Jeff are from 20 years ago, but they are still fresh in my mind.

I was shocked to hear of Jeff's passing. I have fond memories of sharing the "rent" on the house. Jeff, Pat, Nick and I all thought we were on top of the world by being able to rent Jeff and Pat's parents house. That seems like lifetimes ago. My sympathy's go out to all the family members who are so greatly touched by this huge loss. May God's grace and mercy abound and comfort you all in this time of sorrow.

Brenda, Rachael, Aaron and to all the family,

When our family came to Rockford Open Bible Center as youth pastors in May of 1982 few were as dear to us as Jeff and Brenda. Our friendship endured long after we left Illinois and to this day I would say that Jeff was one of my closest friends. Brenda, Rachael and Aaron, you are at the forefront of our minds right now. The tie will always be strong and we are here for you. Much love!

Pat, Trent and I are so very sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. What a shock!. I remember when I first arrived at Open Bible you and Jeff welcomed me with open arms. I'll never forget the fun we had while there. I do not know if you knew this or not but Trent played on Charles Joseph's Team with Jeff (Trent worked for Charlie) and we really truly enjoyed Jeff. He always had a big smile on his face. I only wish we would have kept in closer touch he was one of those guys who was truly kind hearted.
