JOHN W. DUNCAN SR., 91 ROCKFORD - John W. Duncan Sr., 91, of Rockford died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 24, 1918, in Coketon, W.Va., the son of David and Agnes (Farley) Duncan. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. Married Catherine M. Cullen on Oct. 4, 1947, in Rockford; she died July 6, 1987. Retired from Knox Motor. Member of the Venetian Club. He enjoyed fishing at Sand Lake, Wis. Survivors include son, John W. Duncan Jr.; brother, Melvin (Millie) Duncan of Orland Park; sisters-in-law, Louise Duncan of Florida, Ruth Cullen and Mary (Albert) Peila, both of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Celesta Lewis, Rosella Duncan and Dorothy Parker; and brother, Leroy Duncan. Private service. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
