Karen,
I was so sorry to hear of your dad's death. He lived a wonderful life and I have fond memories of him, your mom and my parents when they were together. Your dad was a great attorney, person, and friend. We will all miss him.

I was sorry to hear about your dad. My dad really enjoyed the time he spent with your dad and the Sypes. When my dad was in the hospital, your dad came to visit him almost every dad. My dad so looked forward to those visits. Your dad also gave a wonderful tribute in honor of my dad to the Bar Associations. Jack will truly be missed.

I read an article about John some years ago when he was still practicing and he said that he didn't frame his law degree or appointments to state and federal courts and hang them on the walls of his office. People that came to him for advice already knew that he was a lawyer and the degrees were simply redundant. After reading the article I took mine down and put up pictures of my family. I wanted be be as much like John as I could because he was the most accomplished, kind, intelligent, and generous lawyer that I ever met. Keep in mind that kind, intelligent, and generous when referring to a lawyer is not only unusual but above and beyond the call of duty. He was my friend and I will miss him. The community and the world will be less because of his passing.
