Larry Kasberger Obituary

Larry Allen Kasberger 1948—2017
Larry Allen Kasberger, 68, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his home in Orfordville, WI. Born on August 18, 1948, Larry, the only child of the late Hilda and Lawrence Kasberger, spent his childhood on his family farm in Marshfield, WI. These days were filled with memories of early mornings with the chickens and Herfords, fluffy white Spitz farm dogs, and a special cow named Daisy. He graduated from Marshfield High School in June of 1966 and served in the Vietnam War from August 1968 to August 1970. While in the service, he began on kitchen duty peeling thousands of potatoes until his automotive talents were discovered and he was moved to the motor pool where he completed his service. Larry was a passionate automotive enthusiast and enjoyed restoring collector cars. He worked for 34 years at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, IL and retired in June of 2001. After retirement, Larry turned his lifelong hobby of collecting coins and his love for antiques into a second career. Together with his son, Benjamin, they opened L&B Coins. Whether it was the hunt for lost treasures, an opportunity to tell his sometimes exaggerated stories, or the chance to help someone in need, Larry truly, truly enjoyed his work at their store. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Janis, his daughter, Elizabeth (Trevor) Sanchez, his son, Benjamin (Sara) Kasberger, and his 2 grandchildren, Emma Grace Kasberger and Bennett Christian Sanchez.

Larry you left this earth way to soon.
I've known Larry for a few years now. He was such a great guy and had quite the sense of humor. He always made me laugh.
One memory is he came in the salon for a Coke at 11:00 am on a Thurs and was hitting on my client.
It was wonderful because my Client was Janis !
He always felt sad for people that had invested in TV coins when he had to tell them they were worth face value. And of the person that had a penny worth over a grand and someone in Rockford offered them 50 bucks..
Larry was a loving man.a funny man,an honest man and best of all a family man.
No words can express how much he will be missed.
Our sympathies to you Janis and your family.
I hope the stories you hear about Larry will get you through this terrible time. And may your memories and God bring you joy again.

Larry I am very sad by your sudden departure, but know that you left an amazing legacy. You raised amazing children and what a blessing you were able to be in your grandchildren's lives, even if for a short time. You are loved and missed.
I grew up being in your home almost as much as mine. So many of my memories involve playing in your basement with Elizabeth and Benji surrounded by your antiques. My prayers are with you and your family.

Larry was my friend for over 25 years. Many times he sent me work when I had my shop. And when I was down he offered me a helping hand. He had faith and trust in me ,that only a true friend can have. I will miss you beyond words. You will have a place in my mind and heart for as long as I live. R.I.P a friend like you were to me ,is hard to come by.
