My husband worked with Mr Caldwell at the city for years and spoke often of this good man. I personally met him years later when he came to pay for his newspaper the first of each month. Mr Caldwell was a kind man who loved and talked about his family . Our prayers are with his beloved family at this sorrowful time.

I always remember Mr. Caldwell's smile and handshake as we entered church. We were members of Allen Chapel from 1980-1988 under Rev. James C. Wade. May our memories of his faithfulness make us strive to be like him as he strived to be like Jesus. He was a peacemaker. Blessed are the peacemakers for theirs is the kingdom of God.

I was one of the many students who worked during summers at the Water Dept . That was over 35 years ago. It is a testatment to the character of the man that I recall Lee with affection after all this time. Even after I had finished school, if I would run into him somewhere, he always would remember and was ready to smile and offer a kind word. Now it's my turn to offer a kind word about him. My sincere condolences on the passing of this true gentleman.
