Lillian Hade Obituary

LILLIAN M. HADE, 88 ROCKFORD - Lillian M. Hade, 88, of Rockford passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, as a resident of Wesley Willows, surrounded by loving family, after a short illness. Born Aug. 7, 1922, and was a lifelong resident of Rockford and graduate of Central High. She went on to attend Rockford School of Business. After graduation she worked as a stenographer at National Lock Co. After the birth of her children, Lillian decided to be a stay-at-home mom until the children went to high school. She then went to work as a receptionist at the Children's Medical Building. Member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway Valhall 168. She belonged to the Sons of Norway dance team and the Daughters of Valhall, a philanthropic arm of Sons of Norway. She was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage and loved music, singing and dancing. She played the violin and piano and was a soloist at weddings. Survived by son, Michael (Jackie); daughter, Maureen (Norbert) Hohlbein; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by the love of her life, Maurice W. Hade. Her family would like to thank all of the people at Wesley Willows for the wonderful care and love she received while she was there. Words really can't express our gratitude. Service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, in Honquest Family Funeral Home, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, with visitation from 3 p.m. to time of service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. To Michael and family, sorry to hear of your lost, I took care of your mom when she was on Personal Care at Wesley Willows, she loved root beer and would always have a glass and some LornaDoone cookies before bed, she would tell the neatest stories, Her smile was contaious. May God continue to bless you and your family. My prayes are with you.
