MARLENE M. LOGAN, 75 POPLAR GROVE - Marlene M. Logan, 75, of Poplar Grove died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Dec. 6, 1933, in Burlington, Iowa; the daughter of Kenneth J. and Mae (McCauley) Merriss. She married Maurice M. "Maurie" Logan. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. Member of St. James Catholic Church, the Belvidere Moose Lodge and Catholic Daughters. She is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Mason City, Iowa. Survived by husband, Maurie; children, Jay (Yuko) Logan, Christine (Jeff) Cleaveland, Dennis (Mary) Logan, Julie (Terry) Stromquist, Kent Logan, Kurt (Kim) Logan; grandchildren, Dawn Dixon, Nicholas Logan, Grant Cleaveland, Erin Cleaveland, Brandi (Jai) Shanata, Ashli Logan, T.J. Stromquist, Miranda Stromquist, Kyle (Becky) Logan, Jarred Logan, Chelsie Logan, Dillon Logan, Maura Logan, Ann Logan, Trevor Logan, Casey (Jennifer) Wiggins, Stacey (Norton) Van Depoole, Tanya Christiansen, Angela (Kevin) Alderman; 12 great- grandchildren; sister, Marcia (Claude) Funk; brother, Kenneth Merriss Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and sister, Sharon Kielty. Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian Geary, pastor and celebrant. Burial in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 30, in the funeral home, also from 9:30 a.m. to time of Mass Tuesday in the church. A Scripture Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
