MARY G. KARTY, 78 LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND FRIEND ROCKFORD - Mary G. Karty, 78, of Rockford died at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in her home. Born May 18, 1929, in Freeport, daughter of Harold and Magdalen (Scheidt) O'Rourke. Graduated from St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago as a registered nurse. Married William Karty in Freeport on Sept. 13, 1952. Rockford resident since 1964. She was employed at Freeport Memorial Hospital and as an industrial nurse for Microswitch Corp. She also worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital and retired from Commonwealth Edison as an industrial nurse after 22 years. Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and North Suburban Woman's Club. Mary always saw the good in everybody and thought of everybody else before herself. Survivors include husband, Bill; daughters, Susan Ann (William) Estes of Belvidere and Kathleen Joan (Scott) Kreitman of Portland, Ore.; grandchild, Briana Kathleen Estes; niece, Debbie Sellers; nephews, Michael O'Rourke, Danny O'Rourke and John O'Rourke. Predeceased by her parents; and brother, Jack O'Rou-rke. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will live in our hearts forever. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m.; the Rev. Daniel Peters will officiate. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were made by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
