Robert Conant Obituary
Robert J. Conant, 70, of Rockford was born April 21, 1947, the son of Harry and Ann (Cuccia) Conant. He passed away suddenly during his best golf game on Thursday, October 5th, 2017. Robert was a graduate of West High in 1965, and went into Local Union #23 as a pipefitter and wielder. He married Margot Lyon in 1966; together they raised Michele (Kevin) DePauw and David (Judy) Conant. Bob had one grandson, Jimmy. Bob enjoyed going to Shotokan Karate where he just earned his 6th degree black belt. He loved golf, photography, reading and magic. Bob volunteered at Artist Ensemble and enjoyed his lake cottage where he fished and loved touring Madison. Bob is also survived by his sister, Rita; one niece; one nephew; two aunts; and many cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017, at St. Bernadette Church, 2400 Bell Ave., in Rockford; with visitation one hour before. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com

So sorry for the the of Bobby we just heard today our thoughts and prayers go out all of his famliy. We had a lot of fun times together and Scott and Bobby had good times working at Mechanical for many years. Whenever we would see him he was always smiling and laughing. He sure will be missed.

Sandy and I are shocked and saddened to hear this terrible news.
We just saw you two on Labor Day and Bob & I traded camera guy stories in-between (and during) the concert as we usually did. Live music in Rockford just won't be the same without him.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. You may not remember me. My parents were Harold and Carolyn Heinzeroth. I remember going to Ann & Harry's house as a child and playing with Bob and Rita. Gone too soon. He will be dearly loved and missed by all who knew him.

Bobby, we are going to miss you ! Fred always looked forward to your golf games every week that you could play. It won't be the same without you. You shared a lot of fun together for over fifty years. Oh the stories Fred could tell!
