Robert Unger Obituary
Robert E. Unger, 65, of Rockford, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 in his home. Born January 23, 1953 in Joliet, IL, the son of Donald & Kathryn (Hurt) Unger. Lived most of his life in the Rockford area. He loved gardening, cooking and his beloved dog, Fergi. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Alan. Survivors include brothers, David, Mark (Teri) and Richard Unger of Freeport; sisters Mary (Mark) Peace of Loves Park, Dorothy McConnell of Rock Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Bob was my most beloved friend. He was the definition of a "best friend" He was always there with a strong shoulder to lean on and a wonderful ear for listening too. We would sit for hours and talk about everything and anything. I can honestly say that Bob knew me better than anyone I've ever met and at 63 I've met a lot of people. There wasnt a day that went by that we didnt' speak. We hung out, ate, laughed, reminisced about our younger years and experiences and enjoyed ever bit of it. I will dearly miss him. My daughter Shana loves and misses him dearly as well. She occasionally spoke to him as he would her to give insight/information on the well being of myself while I was in/out of the hospital. We have pictures of mothers day a few years
back whenI Bob and I drove down from Illinois to visit Oklahoma City, We had a lot of great memories that will always be cherished.
All my love and best wishes to his family.
He will be a part of me forever.
