SCOTT J. BUTTIKOFER, 37 MACHESNEY PARK - Scott J. Buttikofer, 37, of Machesney Park died unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013. Born May 29, 1976, in Eau Claire, WI; the son of Gary and Barb (Lennie) Buttikofer. Graduate of Harlem High School, and married his loving wife, Rebecca Johnson in 2003. Worked as a CNC machinist at Abbot Plastics for 11 years. He played guitar in the band, Protakill, and most recently drums in the band, Modifire. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, a diehard Rush fan, and you were sure to see his contagious smile whenever you saw him. Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca; parents, Gary and Barb Buttikofer; sisters-in-law, Nicole Buttikofer and Dawn Johnson; nephew, Maddux; nieces, Nicole, Elizabeth and Kallie; father/mother-in-law, David and June Johnson; good friend, Jeff Wilcox; and Scott's aunts, uncles, cousins and additional special friends. He was preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Christopher Buttikofer, August 6, 2012. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation from 4 to 8p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Mulford Chapel, and will continue on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a fund to be established.
