Sheri Greenfield Obituary

SHERI M. GREENFIELD, 62 ROCKTON - Sheri M. Greenfield, 62, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, February 9, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family and friends. Sheri was born January 28, 1952 in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Ellsesar) Fry. She is survived by her husband Bob, the love of her life, to whom she was married for 43 years and her children, Tammy (Mike) Robinson of North Aurora, IL and Ed (Trisha) Greenfield of Roscoe, IL. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Aidan, Ella, Makayla, Camden, and Lily, whom she cherished immensely. Sheri is also survived by her brother, Jim (Kathy) Fry, of Layton, UT, brothers-in-law Ed (Sharon) Greenfield of Marathon Key, FLand Robert McCartney of Rockton, IL, sister-in-law Linda Greenfield of Roscoe, IL, aunts Addie Haynes of South Beloit, IL, and Ruth (Steve) Carlson of Beloit, WI, special cousins, Creed and Sheri Westphal of Marion, MT, several nieces and nephews, and countless wonderful friends. Sheri's circle of friends was as deep as it was wide and she treasured each one as extended family. She was a woman of deep faith and following the example of her Savior, never failed to love and care deeply for every person in her life. Sheri was employed by Central Christian Church in Beloit, WI as an office manager for the past 14 years, was an independent business owner of Young at Heart Tours, and co-owner of Bloyer Well and Pump Company. She was honored to volunteer with VetsRoll and held dear the over 30 years she spent at Hononegah High School coaching and investing in the lives of countless young women who were members of her dance, flag, and cheerleading teams. She led dozens of her teams to state and national championships and was recognized twice as the country's Top Small Varsity Cheerleading Coach by the International Cheerleading Foundation. Sheri enjoyed traveling with her best friend, husband, Bob, and her "Young at Heart" family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. Sheri was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Mary Fry, brother-in-law, Gary Greenfield, sister-in-law, Judy McCartney, mother and father-in-law, Gladys and Charles Johnson, her special uncles Joe Ellsesar and Almon "Bud" Haynes, grandson Jonah Greenfield, and favorite dogs, Noah and Sable. Special thanks to Dr. Kahn, OSF Hospice, and the staff of the Cancer Center at Rockford Memorial Hospital who through their loving and compassionate care made a profound difference in her life as well as that of her family. A celebration of Sheri's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Central Christian Church in Beloit, WI with Pastor David Meding officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VetsRoll or OSF Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.daleymurphywisch.com.

Bob, I am so sorry for you and your family; but, of course, not for Sheri since she is now in the presence of our glorious Lord. She was truly gifted and generous in sharing her gifts. To you and your family, "May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with all of you."

Bob, it was such an honor and delight to know you and Sheri and we loved that Sheri always invited Kye and Bekah up on her bed! :) We are thankful God led is to Sheri time and time again--it was rare for us to visit RMH and not run into you, or your daughter or a
nurse that would let us know Sheri was in house. We are so sorry for your great loss. We will miss her very much. You and your family are in our prayers.

When my parents moved back to Rockton from Beloit in 1964 Sheri was one of the first babysitters I remember them getting for us kids. Her and her friend Beverly Schafman traded off because I think the 4 of us were a handful and then some. I saw her around town through the years and am saddened to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to her family and many friends.

We were surprised and passing to read of Sheri's passing. Jeff always looked forward to seeing Sheri's smile and her upbeat attitude and approach to her job when they worked together at Hononegah. We will keep her entire family in our prayers.
