Stuart Wonder Obituary

STUART L. 'BUD' WONDER, 69 PECATONICA - Stuart L. "Bud" Wonder, 69, of Pecatonica died suddenly at 6:36 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, in Rockford (Ill.) Memorial Hospital. He was born March 18, 1943, in Freeport, son of Stuart L. and June E. (Kaempert) Wonder. He graduated from Aquin Catholic High School, class of 1961, and he excelled in all sports. Bud married Joyce L. Wiley on Oct. 22, 1965, in Pecatonica, at First Lutheran Church, where they still attend. Stuart was employed by Victory Beauty Systems as a sales representative more than 40 years, retiring in 2010. He then worked for DACH Fencing and retired in 2011. Bud enjoyed perfecting his garden and any woodworking project. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and would help people any time he could. He loved and adored his family and his dogs, Gunner and Hannah. Bud is survived by wife, Joyce; son, Scott Wonder of Pecatonica; son, Todd (Dana) Wonder of Bend, Ore.; sister, Susan (Larry) Casey of Freeport; brothers, Paul (Christine) Wonder of Milton, Wis., John (Jeff) Wonder and Jim (Sally) Wonder, all of Caledonia, Tim (Gina) Wonder of Milwaukee, Wis.; sisters, May (Jim) Wicks of St. Joseph, Mich., Margaret Wonder of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents. Memorial ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at First Lutheran Church, 218 E. Sixth St., with Pastor Tom Jacoby officiating. Cremation rites to be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a memorial to be established in his name at a later date. Countryman Funeral Home, 529 Washington St., assisted the family. I am very saddened to hear of Stu's unexpected passing. As a younger man, I made it a point of riding by on my motorcycle. I always knew if the garage door was open, I was welcome to stop in and talk shop; which I often did. My condolences on your loss.
