Tony DeVerdi Obituary
Tony J. DeVerdi, 96, of Rockford went to heaven on February 28, 2018. He was born December 20, 1921, in Rockford, the son of Alex and Mary (Maggio)DiVerdi. Tony served the United States Air Corps during World War II. He married Lyla Brown on September 12, 1943, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Rockford. Tony was a tool designer for Rehnberg-Jacobson for many years. Survivors include his wife, Lyla; children, Tony Jr., Christine (Don) Kinsman, and Kathy (Mark) Bramble; grandchildren, David (Nicole) Kinsman, Kimberly (Chris) Pastuska, Brian (Anita) Bramble, Sean (Jamie) Bramble, Jill (Andrew Teeter) Bramble; and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; three brothers; three sisters; and grandson, Greg Kinsman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4407 Highcrest Rd., Rockford, with Father Phillip Kaim officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miletstone, Inc., 4060 McFarland Rd, Loves Park, IL 61111. Arrangements by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd.
