Daniel Rost Obituary
He was born September 26, 1941, in Dover, New Jersey, the son of H. Walter and Nora (Clark) Rost.
Dan was a 1959 graduate of Dover High School in New Jersey.
On October 15, 1960, he married Joan (Wheeler) Rost.
Dan was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed hunting, antiquing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Rost; three daughters: Deborah Hard and her husband, James, of Brandon,
Kimberly McKirryher and her husband, Richard, of Rutland Town, and Lisa Rost of Chittenden; a sister, Judith Bennett of Huntington Beach, California; six grandchildren: Stephanie, Lindsay and Jodi Hard, Joseph McKirryher,
Brittany Hance and Morgan Ballard; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. at Pittsford Congregational Church in Pittsford. The Rev. Pat Jackman, pastor, will officiate.
A reception for family and friends will follow immediately after in the church fellowship hall.
Burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions in Dan's memory may be made to Pittsford Congregational Church, PO Box 570, Pittsford, VT 05763; or Pittsford Recreational Dept., c/o Randy Adams, PO Box 10, Pittsford, VT 05763.
Arrangements are being handled by the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.

Dan was one of the best carpenters we have ever seen and a real gentleman. He could carry on a conversation and continue to work without missing a beat. He will always have a place in our our hearts and literally in our home. We are so sorry for your loss.

Poppi, i really miss you. and im greatfull for all the times we went to camp to work or shoot skeet with that .410 u gave to me. and u were with me the day I shot my first 8 point buck. U were just as excited as i was that day. and days i stopped to do the garbage the door would always open and i would come in and have coffee for a bit. and always asked how the truck ran and how i was making out with the work.. you sure taught me alot and ill always remember those times -Love Joe
