James Hamblin Obituary
He was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Krypton, Ky., the son of the late Farmer and Sudie (Wooton) Hamblin.
He married Lillian Pierce on July 19, 1963, in Taiwan, New Mexico.
James worked as a foreman for many years at Staco in Poultney and also at General Electric before he became disabled.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, bingo and working on cars. He was an avid Johnny Cash fan.
He is survived by his wife Lillian Hamblin of Poultney; his sons, Jimmy Hamblin, Tommy Hamblin and Jodi Hamblin, all of New Jersey, and James Hamblin Jr. of Poultney; his daughters, Rebecca Williams of Poultney, Betty Sawyer of Barre and Helen Hamblin of Essex, N.Y.; his sisters, Ruth Amburgey of Washington and Della Stidham of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Sally, Rebecca and Rowena.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Activities fund at Genesis Eldercare Mountain View Center at 7 Haywood Ave., Rutland, VT 05701.
