Jonathan Ryan Obituary
Jonathan was a risk taker and he lived life on the edge, with a large circle of intensely loyal friends.
Family was incredibly important to him, especially being an uncle to Isaac and Lilli, and extending to his constant companion, his dog, Blue. He loved sharing pictures and videos of his adventures with Blue, which brought him friends from afar.
He is survived by his parents, Rob and Shirley (Parent) Ryan, of Orwell, VT; his sister, Amanda (Ryan) and her spouse, Nathan Moomaw, of Oregon City, OR, and sister, Sarah (Ryan) and her spouse, Chad Hanlin, and their children, Isaac and Lilli Hanlin, of Rutland, VT; his grandparents, Clayton and Jane Ryan, of Shoreham, VT; also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him dearly. Predeceased by his grandparents, Marcel and Ruby Parent, of Orwell, VT; and his cousin, Andrew "Bear" Ryan, of Benson, VT.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Brandon American Legion Post #55, where the family will receive friends for a time of remembrance.
The family asks that you do an act of kindness in Jonathan's memory to keep his spirit alive.

Truly going to miss having Jon send me random snap chats and texts to cheer me up when i was having a bad day or just him being his goofy self. Although i didnt know him when i lived in Vermont i am thankful that i got to know him over the last 2 years. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. Sending you all Love!

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. I never knew Jonathan very well, even though we were related, but I have heard the many stories and he definitely sounded like an on the edge kind of guy. Praying for your hearts to heal.

My thought and prayers to Jon and his family. So very sorry for your loss. I didnt know Jon but he was friends with my daughter and said kind words to her when she was undergoing colon removal . She was fearing to having to wear a c bag which thankfully she didnt. I almost lost her. Jon said kind words to her saying that no matter what she would still be beautiful both inside and out. He said other words to her as well. That meant alot to her. May Jon Rest In Peace and his family find peace as well.

I'd say rest easy Jonboy but we know that's not you bud. We know you'll continue to seek adventure and a little mischievous fun up above. As you watch over us all. Jon competed with me for best car in the senior yearbook. He won of course. He was such a great fella! He and I had recently come in contact with one another. I talked to him thursday morning. I loved waking up to his messages and videos from the farm. He will be missed so much! God bless.

Jon and I became FB friends via the Australian Shepherd Group. I truly admired what a hard working, hard playing young man he was. His love for family and his dog Blue always shown through. My heartfelt condolences go out to all his family and friends.

I'm so sorry for your lose, Jonathan was one of a kind, he would get something in his head and instead of thinking about it he would live on the wild side and do it. Jonathan and Blue were a team, they were always together. He left Blue behind to watch over his family and friends, and to let everyone know he is watching over us. Jon would not want us to grieve, he would want everyone to celebrate life to the fullest. You may be gone Jonathan, but not forgotten. RIP buddy.

We love your Jonboy because he was honest and a funny guy even with the knicks and scratches, that's what made him so interesting. My husband and I are members of a FB group for Australian Shepherd owners. We were introduced to Jon and his Aussie Blue through that group. The love they shared was pure and unconditional.
